Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed on Wednesday revealed that the Federal Government spends as much as N3.5 million a month to feed detained leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria aka Shi’ites, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
El-Zakzaky was arrested in December 2015 after members of his religious group had a clash with men of the Nigerian Army in Zaria, Kaduna state.
He revealed this information while addressing state house correspondents after the FEC meeting.
Recall that a Kaduna State High Court sitting in the state capital had denied Shiites leader Sheikh Ibrahim El Zakzaky’s bail application filed by counsel to the leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria and his wife on Wednesday, November 7th.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Gideon Kurada in his ruling on Wednesday, said the accused persons have not shown any substantial medical evidence to grant them bail in their written application.
