Manchester United fear losing goalkeeper David de Gea for free, with Juventus said to be willing to play the waiting game.
The 27-year-old’s contract expires next summer, though the club do have the option of extending by a further year.
He had been expected to sign a new long term deal, but so far nothing has been agreed and to avoid losing the Spain international for nothing, United may be forced into a cut-price sale next summer, rather than lose him for free 12 months later.
According to The Sun , De Gea is aware of Juve’s interest, with source telling the newspaper: “De Gea played against his future club on Tuesday.
“Juve are experts in intelligent deals. If United don’t sell him in the summer, Juventus will wait until the end of his contract.”
De Gea played against the Italian champions in the Champions League and, despite losing 1-0, still managed to shine.
