Arsenal youngster Ben Sheaf has completed a loan move to League Two side Stevenage where the 19-year-old will be till the end of the ongoing League season in England. The Englishman has struggled to break into the Gunners first team this season as he has only made two appearances for the north London side and will relish the opportunity of first team football. Despite making his first team debut when coming on for Francis Coquelin against Red Star Belgrade in October 2017, Ben Sheaf failed to convince Arsene Wenger that he deserve a regular playing time at the Emirates.
Ben Sheaf began his career across London at West Ham before transferring to Arsenal’s youth academy in 2014 and has also appeared for his home nation England at U-16 and U-19 levels. His strongest position is in the center of the park, and that’s likely where Stevenage boss Darren Sarll will use him.
Ben Sheaf is not expected to be missed at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal have many players who are playing his position at the club. Arsenal are currently occupying sixth position on the Premier League standings with 42 points from 24 games played so far this season.
